I loved the movie: I just took it as an allegory to the US Indian wars, when I thought about it at all, and disregarded those few very obvious references to modern politics. Basically, I've concluded that If I refuse to watch every form of entertainment developed by a left wing, America hating liberal, I'll never get to experience movies, TV, or music at all.
However, finding out that Cameron did The Abyss doesn't surprise me one little bit.
