Yeah, pretty pathetic. But I'm going to do better today, honest.
Oh, question. You know the youngish Canadian guy who's taken Grodin's place this season? Does he have a name by any chance?
UPDATE: Hey, I got a screencap of him ( Read more... )

Sep. 12th, 2005 02:12 pmSo for the last four days, between the test and babysitting and the thrill of Conversion *eg* I have been neglecting my writing. This puts me, well, 2,000 words behind my current goal. Therefore, I'm going to get back on the wagon starting today and write more than 500 to try and make up the shortfall.
Today's word count: 713.
Whew! Just squeaked in.
I'm feeling better about my progress, maybe because I just wrote my first bit from Shep's POV, and he's such the everyman. Or maybe it's because I decided that my main OC's name - Azeza - just wasn't working. I discovered this when I was reading my test prep book.
How does that work? you ask. Well, this test prep book has sample questions. And of course we don't want to discriminate against other cultures by just using the names Joe and Billy and Sally and so on, and one of the names in a particular example was Ghazaleh. And I saw that and went, that is so my OC's name.
And it's all good.
(PS: my story in full is now 5,300 words. Weird. Seems like it should be more.)

I know, I'm posting this a little early, but if work today is anything like the last two days, I'm not going to be in much of a mood to write when I get home. And if I did, certain characters would no doubt be more bitchy than usual *g*
The pace of the story still feels choppy, but I'm getting better at ignoring that now. Later, when I've gained some distance, I can go back and smooth it over.
