icons100 table

Since I'm feeling so blah about writing but still need some kind of creative outlet, I decided to make a icons100 table for my favorite Jane Austen-inspired movies. Currently they are the P&P miniseries (we do not speak of the KK version, for it is icky), S&S with Emma Thompson, and Persuasion with Amanda Root. The version of S&S I have on my computer right now is pretty poor -- I'll have to burn a decent copy from my DVD. I'm downloading the first hour of P&P right now. In the meantime I'm playing with Persuasion. It's hard because Per. isn't as visually appealing as the other two, but it's good practice.
Update: Okay, I now have at least a couple icons from each movie. This'll take a while to fill in, but I'm enjoying myself.

Date: 2009-03-02 05:24 am (UTC)What version of Persuasion is that? I got the Masterpiece Theater version for Christmas. I adore Anthony Head, but I seriously wanted to shake him until his teeth rattled. Hmm...That was my reaction to Emma too. ;-)
I will, of course, credit! :-)

Date: 2009-03-02 05:38 am (UTC)Persuasion -- it's the 1995 version with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds. BBC, I believe. Who did Anthony Head play in the other version? I haven't watched the MT version because I heard it's not as true to the book. Same reason I avoid the Gwen Paltrow version of Emma (well, that and I just don't care for GP).

Date: 2009-03-02 05:49 am (UTC)Anthony Head was Sir Walter Elliot. He is so snooty English, you just feel so sorry for Anne.
I've been going to watch the Gwen Paltrow version just to see how diffrent it was.

Okay, I just replaced it with one slightly under the 40k mark.
Ah yes, he WOULD be Sir Walter. I don't know the guy who played him in the BBC version, but he was such a spectacular ass that I can't really imagine AH doing any better!
Let me know what you think of the GP version. I did save a copy of the Netflix disc I ordered (by accident) so that I could watch it if I got some insane urge to. The Kate Beckinsale version was... ok. Not wild about it.

Date: 2009-03-02 02:31 pm (UTC)I'll let you know about the GP version. It looks..well..silly just from the cover, but it would be interesting to see what they did with it.

My favorite is 58, which is sort of how I feel after work sometimes ;)
Thank you especially for using the Amanda Root Persuasion, which is the one I am familiar with, and like.
Thank you, will credit.

Date: 2009-03-02 10:42 pm (UTC)I especially love your Persuasion ones. You're right - it's harder to get pretty stills from that movie, but the good pictures are very good! And there are never enough icons from that film. Thanks for sharing them. I can't wait to see the rest!!

Date: 2009-03-09 01:33 am (UTC)Speaking of the different versions of the movies. I was given the 1970's BBC miniseries box set as a gift for Christmas. I haven't watched all 6 movies yet, but I did see P&P and the whole time I kept comparing it to the 1995 version and there was not competition, 1995 wins every time.
