Well now... that would have opened up an entirely different kettle of fandom fish with the resultant meow-boom. But yeah...Sam has dealt with human form replicators before and I'm sure she while she might have an inner qualm or two, she'd do it.
Well, as robots they aren't dead and this way they won't be reeking havoc in the Pegasus galaxy but TPTB can always bring them back when they are short on ideas.
I'm imagining that a certain segment of fandom will go BOOM since it had Weir not played by Tori.
That look on Liz/Fran's face as she closed her eyes, floating away was very moving. I wonder if it's any better floating in space in a body than floating in subspace as energy? I have always believed Elizabeth would never do anything to harm Atlantis, throughout her entire time on the show, that was one constant theme, so I think TPTB have been true to her character.
I kept hoping someone would suggest sending them off to the Epiphany world; preferably in the shiny, new human bodies, but it might have been interesting to see what happened to a replicator that went through the barrier.
Ultimately, it was a very Sheppard-like solution, but I could see Weir pulling it off. The only problem I have with it is that, unless they get sucked into some planets gravity and burn up on re-entry or fall into a sun, there is always the possibility that some spaceship will wander by some day and retrieve the bodies. Then there will be a whole new story line and I really hate replicators.
Well space gates (I believe) have to be in orbit around a planet, so if TPTB wanted to they could just say "Oh they burned up in the atmosphere". Of course if the show gets renewed and they wanted to revisit the storyline they could just say that they didn't ;)
Did Lizzie really know what was going to happen to her and the others? I mean I seriously think she suspected something, but if she had known wouldn't the other reps have known as well?
I liked that Lizzie did double-cross them, and I liked that Woosley had the balls to do what he did -- it made him more believable as a commander.
Fortunately, Woolsey didn't have the emotional connection to Elizabeth/Fran that the others had, which certainly made it easier for him to make that decision. I don't see this as being a "John" solution, I see this as being a group decision, driven by Woolsey. Woolsey's okay.
I liked it, but at one point, all I could think of was the ST:TOS episode where three mental entities took over Spock, Kirk and some character played by Diana Muldaur (one of her 2 guest appearances on that incarnation of Trek). The one who took over Spock's body didn't want to leave...
