A serious question

McCain's shtick is that he's a "maverick"; Obama's angle is that he's a "reformer". I'm curious, though -- what has Obama done to earn that title? He's always talking about how he's a 'new kind of politican'... those of you who support him, or are inclined to, I would be very interested for you to describe how you know he's for real, and not 'just another politican'.
