I listened to XM4 all the way to the airport and all the way back...then all the way to work. They were replaying the original CBS News broadcasts from June 6, 1944. It was remarkably close to "real time" -- only delayed by about six hours at the time. Reporters were embedded with the guys in the hours leading up to the battle, and the stories were incredibly moving.
I wibbled a little when I thought about all that those men had sacrificed and for what cause.
And then I really choked up when I thought about what it would have been like, trying to fight that war now.
