As far as I know (and I will admit, I don't know much :D), we retaliated. Yes, we were there, but we were there for the sole purpose of Hussein pre-9/11. If we're gonna focus on oil, that opens an entirely different rant for me. But until they attacked American soil, we weren't in the middle on gunfights in the Middle East.
'Course, this could just show how I prefer to NOT think about all this, and rather think about moving to Canada... *sniffs*
