I'm not really going to elaborate, because the people who know know and the people who don't are lucky *g* but I would be really interested to know how people are justified in calling me 'homophobic' based on my 'Ship...' post below. I've reread it and everything, and I don't get it.

No, I don't read slash. No, I don't understand the appeal, and obviously Morgan and I weren't going to see eye to eye on a lot of things (although I was enjoying the conversation and was saddened to see it end). But then again, I don't see eye to eye with a bunch of the HW on a LOT of things *g*

(Oops, there I go, blurting trade secrets...)

Anyway... how that translates to, quite literally, a 'fear of homosexuals/homosexuality'... wow, I have to admit, that one sailed right over my head.

Who called you homophobic? I didn't. I called TPTB behind American television in general homophobic - and I'll stand by that. But I did not level that accusation against any individual.

Alli, I enjoyed the conversation, I'm just not keen on banging my head against a brick wall in a completely public forum, when I don't know who besides youself is reading. Bring that subject up on a mailing list (less public) where we're both members and I'll argue till you're sick of it :-)

I don't think anti-slash automatically translates as homophobic. Some do, though, and you do come across as strongly anti-slash. Maybe that's the reason?

I dunno. I like that even though we're never going to agree on this stuff, we still get along. Mostly.

Oh, it wasn't you... I probably should have made that more clear. My above entry was just a comment to some lovely folks who'd been following our conversation (we have fans! *bg*) and came away with that conclusion.

I don't know what 'anti-slash' means... I have friends who write it and read it, in this fandom and others. (I also have friends who are gay, although that's unrelated). It's just not my cup of tea. Combine that with some of the... experiences I've had in this fandom with individuals who happen to be slashers (and many of whom happen to have victim complexes)...

Lucky for me, I don't really care. It just makes good LJ fodder :D

And yeah... we mostly get along. What's that say about us? *

We don't belong in Stargate fandom?

It does seem to be an unforgivable sin for a shipper and a slasher to find some common ground.

(Did I say that? Oops. I guess I did.)

LOL. What does that mean for people who are shippers AND slashers? Eternal damnation?

What? I think it's blasphemy to suggest there could even be such a thing!

And, hey! I missed this:

some lovely folks who'd been following our conversation (we have fans! *bg*)

We have fans? We as in you and I? Collectively? Now there's a frightening thought. :-)

Eternal damnation is looking like a prospect for me. \
