allisnow: (MOOD: Brilliant!)
[personal profile] allisnow

So I braved the insanity tonight to see Goblet of Fire. I have to say, I was prepared not to like it because I knew how much they had to cut and because I think it's hard to take four hundred pages and turn it into a movie, even a hella long movie, because you're talking about two such very different formats. But I liked it quite a bit. I have to say it's the best so far, not with regards to staying true to the source material but in the plain old-fashioned "gee, that was a good movie" sense. I laughed. I cried. I wanted to hug all of them, including skinny white boy Harry, pouty sheepdog Ron and snippy "I'm not an owl" Hermione.

As the kids have matured the stories have matured, and the movies have matured as well. And that's a good thing.

Is it on DVD yet?
