On one hand, I made my stated goal for the weekend and I feel pretty good about that.
On the other hand, it kind of amazes me that I've written over 20,000 words - about 18,000 of that is the actual story - and yet I feel I'm maybe a sentence into the 'back of the book blurb'. There's still a huge number of characters that need to be introduced -- for Pete's sake, they haven't even left home yet.
I have to remind myself that in my case, at least, NaNo is about making myself start, gaining momentum, not having words #49,999 and #50,000 be The and End. But I'm simultaneously proud of myself for getting this far and intimidated by how much remains. Not to mention how much I don't know about my characters and my plot and my world. It's fairly exhausting.
