allisnow: (etc // stoic type)
So tomorrow is the first weekday since school ended. I'm trying not to think about it as being the first day of being unemployed because I wouldn't be working anyway. But it does kind of put a shadow on things. The good thing is that there are always more job postings on the weekdays than the weekends.

I'm drinking decaf coffee, because I wanted coffee but it's so late. I had forgotten how gross decaf is.

They're reporting that some celebrations in LA (re: the Lakers' win) are getting out of control. Wow, there's a shock. And if they had lost, the fans would have gotten out of control because they were upset. Blah.

Speaking of sports, we swept the A's! Now I can continue taunting the gal at Curves who is an A's fan (or, as we like to call them, an Athletic supporter). The most amazing part was the inside the park home run one of our outfielders hit. Now that's something you don't see every day. My brother and his gf went to this game (mom, my aunt, cousin and I went to the game last night, which was awesome... we won 5-2 behind Randy Johnson, win #301) and I'm glad they had a good time.

The news is reporting that the state legislature has been doing nothing despite the fact that there is a budget deadline tomorrow. There's another shock. Republicans want spending cuts, Democrats want to raise taxes and borrow money that doesn't exist. Holy crap, I can't wait for the 2010 elections. Unless things majorly change, people are going to be so fed up with the incumbents that I'm hoping we'll see some actual... hey, what's that word? Oh yeah -- CHANGE.

To do list for tomorrow:

  • Return Rainbow Valley audio CDs to the library (after making a copy since I haven't yet gotten around to listening to them)

  • Do bed laundry

  • Go to the grocery store for milk and Rx

  • Sweep downstairs

  • Job hunt
