Club100 Day 1

So, I didn't win nano this year. I think it was a combination of not being very motivated with regards to the story I came up with, being busy with my new place and getting pretty sick there at the end. But even if I hadn't gotten sick I doubt I would have made it. No excuses.

However, I did get about 20,000 words written, and I do feel good about that. Even if I don't go back to that story for a long time, or ever, I kind of proved to myself that I can write profic. It wasn't that long ago that I remember thinking that I simply couldn't write anything but fanfic. Nice to be wrong.

So, I'm going to get back into the Club100 swing of things. For the uninformed, Club100 is a Yahoo Group where members try to write a minimum of 100 words a day. Not a hugely ambitious goal, but I've found that usually if you can sit down and get 100 words out you can get more. So, it's what I'm doing. The idea is that you try to get to as many days in a row as you can, and if you miss a day you have to start over at 1. I'm going to give myself one non-writing day a week, which makes 6 days a week of writing. And my flist can help by harassing me if you haven't seen me post the day's count yet.

Tonight I've been working on my fantasy epic-wanna-be, working title The Sound of Bells, and I have 226 words so far.
