Now it's true that if your tires are properly inflated you will get a little better MPG. This is something most people know - it's common sense that if you have less friction you will need less power to move the same amount - and that we don't really need the Messiah to tell us. But I digress. National Review Online, HotAir and Powerline all do the calculations, but tire inflating is not a replacement for drilling where we have billions and billions of barrels of oil within our own borders -- and why should it be? As Jim Geraghty from NRO wonders, why does it have to be either/or? Why can't we buy more fuel-efficient vehicles, do our best to keep them running at peak efficiency, and continue to explore ways to reduce our dependence on foreign oil?
I guess when you're Barack Obama, and your party is enjoying tax free gas, and you think high gas prices are OK as long as they rise gradually instead of all at once, it's not really a problem.
The average American thinks otherwise.
