club100 day five

Kind of a busy evening, listening to people setting off illegal fireworks trying to blow themselves up, and then we got to watching Yankee Doodle Dandy (I have "Over There" stuck in my head now), so I didn't get as much done as I would have liked. I did manage 142 words on my original fic as well as some editing of what I did the other night... I don't know if I'll keep it, since it's kind of an info-dump, but it's nice to get some of the history straight in my head anyway.

I should go to bed... but I'm hungry now. Harumph.

Does anyone else find Guy Gavriel Kay's books to be somewhat pretenious?

I mean, I know literally nothing about the guy, but I can sort of just see him sitting at his desk writing and going "omigod this is so deeeeep!"
