- I spent the last 10 minutes scrolling through tumblr and gawking at pictures and gifsets from Hansel & Gretel. I mean I just can't even explain how much I want to see this and how terrible I expect it to be but dear God I don't care. Know why I don't care? THIS IS WHY.

- I have some kind of leak under my kitchen sink. Sigh. Mom and Dad are coming over to take a look. Yes, I'm 30 and my parents are coming over to... okay, I almost typed 'check my plumbing' but that just sounds terrible. I'm hoping something just needs to be tightened because I have basically no money.

- Speaking of, I had to take Abby to the vet yesterday because she had an ingrown nail. $200 later, she's doing okay. I mean she's kind of a bitch on a good day, so she's not being friendly and playful or anything, but then I wouldn't expect that.

- DC Nation is back as of today! I'd seen both the Young Justice and Green Lantern episodes thanks to iTunes, so I'm looking forward to next weekend. Can I just say if we don't get some kind of awesome Aya/Razer reunion my wrath will be terrible? Because it will. It will.

Slept in til about 10:30. Had Chili's take-out for lunch. Watching the Rose Bowl 'cause there's nothing on. Dealing with stupid cramps. Archived a couple SGA stories on AO3. Going to consider that being productive for the day and take a nap. That is all.

I'm going to start off the new year SOOOO freakin' behind on reading fanfic *facepalm*

Well, I've bit the bullet. Sorta. I'm importing my LJ to DW, and I'm going to try to remember to crosspost so I can kind of ease into using DW. Obviously I'm not giving up on LJ completely - at least, not yet - because my favorite bar is there, but, well, with the bad service on LJ and all the crap our Russian overlords are pulling, I thought it would be a good idea to sort of cover my bases.

(I was actually willing to put aside my long-standing dislike of urban fantasy and read the sample at least until I saw the phrase "...her childhood crush, Officer Cody Fairfax, a sexy werewolf..." No. Just... no. Also no.)

Just back from seeing Les Mis. As I said in my previous post, I knew nothing about it other than it was set in France (and, okay, I did recognize some of the songs from middle school choir). I'd come across a couple reviews which I perused but mainly went in without any preconceptions or expectations.

For a six-thirty, Thursday-night showing, I wasn't expecting much of a crowd, but the theater was packed. The idiot behind me put his feet on the back of my chair a couple of times... I wouldn't care but these are rocker seats and I could feel the pressure. Thankfully he stopped the second time I pushed back. And the idiot next to me, who felt that he needed to comment on every single pre-movie commercial and who I was rather worried about continuing on into the movie, shut up once the lights went down. And it seemed like fewer morons than usual brought their little kids. Yay for parenting!

Also, I love this theater for how it's dealt with the cell phone issue, at least for full houses like this. The theater manager came in and, although he was very cheerful and friendly and polite, essentially stood there and waited for everyone to turn their phones off. Then he helpfully reminded the audience that ushers would be coming in several times during the movie 'to check on picture quality.' Then right before the movie started there was an on-screen message telling people that if they're caught with 'recording devices or cell phones' they 'may be asked to leave the theater immediately.' It's sad that we've had to come to that... but it was effective. I was sitting up near the top and didn't see anyone jacking around with a screen.

Oh, story. You're over 3K words and I still have no idea what you want to be when you grow up.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas Day. It sure seemed to fly by! There's something about prepping for a day for 3 weeks and it being over in 24 hours (less, if you enjoy things like sleep) that makes it hard not to be a little depressing to wake up the next day.

But you know what makes it less depressing? When you don't have to work until January 7th.

From my parents I got a red wool jacket, microfiber sheets, shower radio, electric toothbrush, Starbucks gift card, Giants musical jewelry box and some lovely assorted stocking stuffers. From my brother and his wife: a picture mug commemorating their wedding last April and a selection of salon-quality hair-care products. (It's nice having an aesthetician in the family.) From my aunt, uncle and cousin Shelby I got a slipcover for my sofa (hopefully a little easier to keep the fur off this material!) and a MAC gift card. And from my other cousin and his family: some homemade lavender-orange sugar scrub, a box of coffee K-cups, and a clutch purse.

Tomorrow I'll probably be going back over to the folks' house to help mom set up her new Nook :)

Now I'm off to plug in my toothbrush and look to see what's been posted over at the be_compromised Secret Santa exchange since this morning!
