Tiny tiny spoilers for the new XF movies

X-Files DVDs Tied To Sequel

Fox Home Entertainment is releasing The X-Files: Revelations on July 8, a new DVD compilation of episodes of the hit TV series related to the theatrical release of the upcoming second X-Files movie on July 25.

The two-disc DVD collection features eight episodes selected by series creator Chris Carter, each of which includes an introduction by Carter and producer Frank Spotnitz saying why it was chosen and how it relates to the as-yet-untitled sequel film.

The DVD set will also feature the February WonderCon panel session with Carter and Spotnitz and stars David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully) in their first fan convention appearance together in several years.

The eight episodes, which were previously released as part of the show's various season box sets, are "Pilot," "Beyond the Sea," "The Host," "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose," "Memento Mori," "The Post-Modern Prometheus," "Bad Blood" and "Milagro."

The DVD set also features the sequel's teaser trailer and a free Hollywood Movie Money ticket (valued at $8.50) for the sequel.

The X-Files: Revelations will carry a suggested retail price of $22.98.

Awesome episodes! All eight of them! After all the rumors about a werewolf-based movies... this makes me happy.

In related news: three new pics!

(David, you look like crap.)

1x14 Genderbender

"There's something up there, Mulder." "I've been saying that for years."

"What do you think?" "I think I want to see what's in that cellar." *cringes and waits for them to get caught*

Well that didn't take long.

Heh. Pheromone-drugged Scully. Another perfect PWP opportunity. Except for the puking.

"I know what I saw, Scully. And I saw you about to do the wild thing with some stranger."

Nick Lea!

Dude in underpants!

Steveson! Heheh.

Amish aliens!

1x13 Beyond the Sea

Scully's dad is General Hammond! And her mom is... Cher? Eek that hair is horrible.

"Good night, Starbuck." *sniff*

"How are you, Dana?" "Dana..."

Luther Boggs! "Mulder, do I detect a hint of skepticism?"

Dude face touch. I had forgotten about that. Rather intimate there, fella. :D

ETA: I made icon!

*hums along to 'Beyond the Sea'* This is why the credits of Finding Nemo always give me the creeps...

Brad Dourif is one crazy-ass dude. One really can't help but be impressed.

I love this. For once it's Mulder who's the skeptic and Scully who 'wants to believe'. Which was the whole point, you know, but it's still cool.

"The Bureau would expect something like that from Spooky Mulder, not Dana Scully."

"Don't go near the white cross."

Poor Mulder. Always getting shot.

"Well I came here to tell you that if he dies because of what you've done, four days from now nobody will stop me from being the one that'll throw the switch and gas you out of this life for good, you son of a bitch!"

"Dana, after all you've seen, after all the evidence, why can't you believe?" "I'm afraid. I'm afraid to believe."

This episode makes me love Scully so much.

ETA: One more icon --

1x12 Fire

I'm skipping 1x11 Eve, even though it's an awesome episode, because I just watched it on TV about a month ago. If I have time in my busy XF-watching schedule, I will go back to it.

This is the Mulder's ex episode, isn't it? I remember fuming shippers...

"What do you think it is?" "Ten to one you can't dance to it."

Phoebe Green = WOOF.

"Mulder, you just keep unfolding like a flower."

"I was merely extending her a professional courtesy." "Is that what you were extending?"

"So, Sherlock, is the game afoot?" "I'm afraid so, Watson."

"I'm cursed with a photographic memory." ORLY?

Hmm, Scully is an ace profiler now, eh?

Mmm Mulder in tux. Nice. Phoebe still = WOOF, though.

Come on, Mulder, face those demons! Inhale some smoke!

LOL I love how the firefighters get him out, get him oxygen and then dump him on the floor. Remind me not to catch fire in Boston. I wonder who got him shirtless and in bed... And BOXERS! Heh.

Geez. Do the English not know how to knock? ... Hold on, apparently Mulder doesn't either.

Phoebe = WOOF + HOR!

You know, I think I read somewhere that DD actually got burned during this episode.

"You can't fight fire with fire!" Ooookay crazy British guy.

"Can I get you anything, sir?" "I'm just dying for a cigarette."

Funny.

Screen cap 'o adorable patheticness:

1x09 Space and 1x10 Fallen Angel

I know I saw this episode before, but I don't remember it. What I do remember is people generally considering it not a very good ep. Let's see...

*watches*

Yeah, I kind of see what people meant. There's a lot of Mulder and Scully standing by watching, which is not exactly thrilling television.

Plus he keeps having to explain stuff to her/the audience.

LOL. From Wiki: "Space has the dubious distinction of being considered one of the worst X Files episodes by fans and makes many "worst X Files episodes" lists." TV.com says it was the most expensive episode of the season. Heh.

Okay, on to the next episode.

Cheyenne Mountain! Hee.

Oh no, laser beams! And sneaky Mulder, sneakily sneaking into a military operation. He is gonna get in so much trouble.

And he gets caught. Doh.

Hey, Max! I remember him. "Trust no one. Very wise."

And Scully has come to rescue him. "I didn't know there was room service."

"That story happens to be highly classified." "A highly classified lie."

Bwahahaha. Mulder has stalkers.

"You're entitled to the truth." "I can't afford the truth." Nor can you handle it, according to some.

Hey, it's Brent Stait!

Okay so the aliens can be invisible and when they get close to you, you bleed out your ears? Charming.

You can tell Scully just wants to strangle Mulder here. Not the first time... certainly not the last.

Dude, quit getting separated from Scully -- if you kept her around a little more she might see something interesting and she wouldn't think you're so nuts.

"How can I disprove lies that are stamped with an official seal? You can deny all the things I've seen, all the things I've discovered, but not for much longer because too many others know what's happening out there. And no one, no government agency, has jurisdiction over the truth."

(You know, this really makes me laugh, because in my halcyon X-Files days, the group I ran with had this joke that "lies" and "truth" were euphemisms for, um, female and male genitalia, respectively. Specifically that belonging to the main characters. It made the various lies/truth rants on the show much more amusing.

Yes, we were smutty little scamps. It was the only sane reaction to all the insane NoRoMos.)

1x08 Ice

This episode is a classic. CRAZYMAKING ICE WORMS OMG!

"We're not... who... we are..."

"Bring your mittens..."

LOL this is the episode with the Dr. Hodge. The one who looks crazy even before the worms. He was the bad Secret Service agent in Air Force One!

And Felicity Huffman, wow.

EEK! A mealworm!

"We were told we'd have three clear days of weather." "Welcome to the top of the world, sir."

"Before anyone passes judgment, may I remind you, we are in the Arctic." <-- best line EVA

"At least everyone's OK." "Don't forget, the spots on the dog went away." Yeah. Thanks a million for reminding me of that right before bed.

I think Carter decided early on that once a season he would have to have Mulder or Scully or both pointing guns at each other. Pretty intense, though. "In here I'll be safer than you."

"I don't trust them. I want to trust you." "Okay. But they're not here."

Mmmm back-touching.

God there must be a lot of PWPs spawning from that scene.

Look out, Felicity Huffman has worms! Or... a worm! Okay, now two... now none...

Hm, strange creatures in the Arctic ice... foreshadowing?

1x07 Ghost in the Machine

Remember the 1990s, when an evil AU was a new and exciting idea?

... Wait. You mean it wasn't? Get out of town!

COS is SKYNET! And it's after Scully! OMG!

"The machine's been acting all crazy." You ain't kidding, brother.
