In my experience... it's kind of hard describing the show to someone who hasn't read the books, because normally I would be "wow it's just like the books!" It's an awesome cast (Lena Headly and Peter Dinklage especially) and it's very raunchy, lots of sex, violence, language, etc...
I read the books, so I'd love to see the show, but I don't have HBO. It'll be on iTunes soon, though, and then I'll check it out. I've been re-reading the book, since there is finally a new one coming out this summer and I'd like to read them all again before it comes out. Since it's been 20 years or so since the last one. :)
