Well, since this is the last scene, a gunfight wouldn't really help, because then I'd have to explain that. God I just want this fic to be done so badly. If I had another idea I'd honestly trash it and start over.

Ever read the Thursday Next books by Jasper Fforde? They had a really great use of Suddenly a shot rang out! plot devices.
