Is it like an achievement or something? Are there trials? A gauntlet maybe?
My initial thoughts:
Why, yes, as a matter of fact there is. Living as a Christian doesn't mean that it's necessarily easier or harder, though, in my experience, it does tend toward harder. It's hard to stay positive, to keep your faith when life starts falling down around your ears. It's even harder to keep your faith when an ever-growing number of people keep telling you there's no greater power, no teleological order in the universe. They question you, asking you, "What makes you so special?" It's also hard to forgive, smile with love at those very same people, and remember them in your prayers at night.
It would appear us evil, "fundie, quasi-Calvinists" aren't the only ones capable of a little "political theatre." This guy certainly writes his own grand-standing dialogue.
Nevermind the fact that we're not all Calvinists -- quasi- or any other sort. But then, that might get in the way of the rhythm of the monologue, mightn't it? =)
