I have to admit, much as I'm not looking forward to the 20-page decision paper I have to write (::gag!::), I'm taking this first Homeland Security course at a very interesting moment. Looking to the Bush policies that have guided actions over the past 8 years, and then looking at what policies are beginning to take shape with the Obama administration -- those will be the things I'll be looking closely at, and then extrapolating what might happen if... There's at least going to be great fodder for that decision paper.

I lean a little more to center than you, but I have to say that I agree with most of your sentiments here. While I don't pray that the man fails -- to do so would endanger our security -- but I do hope that being in office, faced with the realities of the world, he makes the right decisions...and doesn't necessarily stick to what he has promised to do.

And I won't even get started on the intelligence capabilities thing. I'm still working on a post about Leon Panetta that I started a week ago. ::sigh::

All I can say is that even the frakking Weather Channel isn't safe today!
